Ahmed Kamal Ezzat, Ph.D. CEO
Bio: Dr. Ahmed Ezzat is a visionary entrepreneur. He held Fellow positions at HP and Yahoo, CTO at Manage.com, Velosel.com, Actian, and VP or SVP Engineering in Manage.com, Velosel, Actian, and at Yahoo!. Areas of expertise include Cloud, Data Management (including structured and unstructured data and Hadoop), and Analytics. Dr. Ezzat served on Teradata’s advisory board. In addition, Dr. Ezzat has been an adjunct professor at Santa Clara University teaching graduate-level Computer science courses for the last 20+ years.
During his career, Ahmed has many patents in distributed systems, data management, and RDBMS optimization algorithms. He has many external publications, and Awards in different technical areas. He is a member of the IEEE, and the ACM organizations. Ahmed holds a PhD in EE & Computer Science from University of New Hampshire.
Brom Mahbod, Ph.D. Business Advisory Board Member
Bio: Dr. Brom Mahbod is an entrepreneur and an Internet visionary and he is currently the CEO of Mavatar technologies, Inc. Earlier, Brom was a vice president at Oracle Corporation. He started his career at Hewlett Packard Laboratories, where he was part of the small team that built the foundation of network management at HP Labs. He subsequently joined Oracle Corporation’s core database group in 1989, and during his tenure at Oracle until 2009 he held various senior technical and management positions and made substantial contributions both technically to the flagship product.
During 1996-1998, he built the server engineering organization at the Oracle spinoff Network Computer, Inc., with the very early ambitious vision of putting all information in the “cloud”, and making computing devices simply a cache of information. In his most recent role, he was responsible for the architecture of the computing infrastructure for Oracle’s On-Demand hosting services, addressing issues in the private cloud computing space: high availability, scalable architecture, security, automation, virtualization at the application, system, and networking levels, as well as application level architecture and integration for cloud computing.
Michael Takamoto, Marketing Advisory Board Member
Michael Takamoto is an entrepreneur and professional marketeer. He has held positions with Oracle, Frame Technologies (now Adobe), Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Highland Digital, and several start-ups. During his career he has held many positions from technical support to sales to marketing. He has published articles in multiple publications including Sun World, and Intel Magazine on a variety of topics ranging from desktop publishing & design to digital security.
